Michael Johnson is the Principal Consultant at Management Systems Consulting LLC. He has over 15 years experience in the marine technology business. Before starting Management Systems Consulting, he was with ABS Nautical Systems as their Director of Operations and before that the Director of Technology & Business Development for the ABS Pacific Region.
Mr. Johnson has a strong background in the operational aspects of the marine industry as well as a solid grip on the latest and newest evolving technologies. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and a M.B.A. from the University of Houston, with a specialization in Management. His particular areas of interest include the organizational effect of technology on change management and predictive operational business modeling.
Prior to joining MSC, Doug held various positions in the maritime industry for over 15 years. As a former consultant with ABS Nautical Systems he provided project management, new implementations, support and training to clients world-wide. In conjunction with consulting, his credentials also include contract management, procurement, vessel security, facilities management, travel administration and corporate records management.
Previous to the Maritime industry, Doug worked for over 20 years in the oil and gas industry for several major energy companies in Houston, Texas. Some of these energy companies include ExxonMobil, Texaco, Chevron, Shell Oil, Enron, Chevron, Pennzoil and Conoco Phillips. During this time period Doug provided Records and Information Management consulting services for the energy industry along with the medical and legal professions. His consulting and project management background extend over a 30 year period with success in managing customer satisfaction.
